Our lakeside guesthouse welcomes you in a small village called Farád, in north-western Hungary — right along Main Road 85 between Győr and Sopron, near the Austrian border. The origin of the village’s name refers to its position in the northern Rábaköz, on the edge of the Hanság marshes: this is where the land suitable for farming, the „fara”, came to an end, and north of it the world of marshes began.
The guesthouse takes its name from one of the ancient treasures of Hungarian tradition, the „Áldos”, an old Hungarian sacrificial and princely dish. The symbolism of its ingredients evokes the harmony of the five elements of ancient Hungarian belief, and is linked to symbolic senses, memories, tastes and scents.
Food crafted by the Táltos — our traditional Hungarian shaman — shared together is far more than a simple meal. It is an invitation to pause and connect. Shared with love, every bite becomes a celebration of community, gratitude, and belonging.
In the old days, people sat beside one another, shared what they had, and for a while, everything else faded away. Time spent around the fire brought them closer to each other, and to the nature that gave everything that ended up on the table.
The heritage of Áldos preserves this ancient tradition.

About our guesthouse
At Áldos Wellness Panzió, we welcome our guests with 17 cozy rooms. Whether you are traveling solo or with a small family, our range of single and double rooms (with extra beds available) ensures a comfortable stay for everyone. Every room has cable television, air conditioning, a fridge and a well-appointed private bathroom, so you feel at home from the first minute.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the guesthouse, and we are reachable by phone daily from 8 AM to 8 PM. Enjoy free, secure parking in our enclosed courtyard, alongside a spacious green garden and our wellness section. Here, rest and relaxation are as natural as the quiet.

Everything was wonderful. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the front desk staff is exceptionally helpful. There is a spacious backyard with a scenic walkway around the lake, as well as a huge playground and communal area. Parking is generous and convenient. I highly recommend it! 🙏

We were welcomed by a friendly and professional staff. The room and bed linens were impeccably clean, and all amenities worked perfectly (air conditioning, fridge, bathroom facilities). There is a lovely little playground for the younger ones and a charming lake. It’s a wonderful spot to sit for a moment in the morning before heading out for a day of sightseeing and exploration.

The pool, hot tub, and infrared sauna were fantastic—though we didn’t end up trying the infrared sauna, as the pool and hot tub were more than enough!🙂

An excellent place, I can highly recommend it. The team is helpful, kind, and attentive. The entire accommodation is clean, well-kept, tasteful, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped. There are cozy lounge corners everywhere with armchairs, books, paintings, and plants.
